About Me:
I am the guitarist for the legendary punk rock band No Alternative. I also play under the name, Blind Orange Johnny, doing old school Blues. Music has been very good to me and allows me to pursue my second favorite pastime chess. Yes, I'm a chess junkie. It drives my wife and bandmates nuts. I also write about chess on my page "The Art Of Chess" which can be found at: http://theartofchess.blogspot.com/ Personality wise I am like Dr. Gregory House (I swear they modeled his character after me). I'm a know it all who does side work as a consultant to designers and engineers where I get paid to be an know it all. I love my wife, dog and cat. I am in the recording studio most of my work week working on a new Blues CD titled Black Smoke Rising and I need a way to stimulate my where brain. This is where chess comes in. I play for at least three hours a day. I love the game and all of it's complexities. There is no other game that comes close to chess. If I had the time I would play in tournaments and build up my rating. I am an aggressive player. I'm still an average player but hope to improve my game.
