I have many hobbies besides Chess- I have an Extra Class Amateur Radio license and talk all over the world, woodworking- guitar-fishing-I am a Past Master (Masonic) of Solomon's Lodge #1 in Charleston, SC. I grew up near Chicago and I am an avid Bears and Cubs fan. Traveled to Ireland twice and I am going back as often as possible (I am of Irish descent). I retired from the US Air Force in 1985 and retired from SC state government in 2007.
I play on line or against my computer daily. I learned the basics over 30 years ago, but haven't been serious about chess until recently and now I am 'ADDICTED'- I don't play well and consider myself a beginner. I am building a chess library and try to read for a few hours daily now that I am retired. I don't live near a chess club, so hope to get one started in this area one day soon-
