About Me:
I like chess. I like Jeremy Silman. His books rule. So much so that I added him in as a brief character in my horror novel. What, a novel?...Where do I go to learn about it?... myspace.com/wakingvampires That's where! Other than aspiring to be a writer, playing chess, watching movies and listening to good music, I enjoy breathing, eating/drinking, and the occasional expulsion of bodily waste. I'm currently a grad student at Newhouse in Syracuse, University for a magazine/newspaper/online journalism program I love chess because it gets me high. Chess is nearly infinite in its possibilities. It rewards crafty deception, patience, and creativity. It's the purest of all games because although there is a physical board, you don't need it. Chess is in the mind, and when you play someone else, if you're good, you can get into their mind. Though it's not the best opening, I enjoy King's Gambit as white. As black, I prefer the Ruy Lopez, and King's Indian Defense. I'm a fan of lightning games...it minimizes the effects of my lack of patience. I can come up with decent moves fast. If you want to read a good chess mystery, find 'The Flanders Panel' by Arturo Perez-Reverte. It's like the DiVinci Code, but without any religious themes.
