I'm very passionate about teaching martial arts and being a volunteer firefighter. Aside from that I enjoy anything outdoors from horseback riding and hiking to water and snow skiing. My father taught me how to play chess when I was about 9 or 10 yrs old. We used to play for hours when I hit my teenage years and played in tournaments for my highschool. Not sure if I really have a style, I just try to play the pieces in front of me. I don't really have a favorite player because I don't keep up with any of the masters or their games. However, one of the greatest endings I got to witness in a game was at the state championship in Columbia, SC. Kevin Tamayo was the player's name who left the crowd in awe with his amazing comeback, more like gueriila warfare tactic. His opponent, who had an overwhelming advantage, never saw it coming.
