Name's Josh. Soldier in the United States Army and am a Criminal Justice student at the University of Cincinnati as well. I've been playing chess 'on and off' for roughly 12 years. Learned the rules from my dad, and self taught ever since. The game first peaked my interest when I participated in an elementary school tournament. Some years later, I was second board (freshman yr.) and first board (sophomore-senior yrs.) on my high school varsity chess team and collected several accolades throughout the seasons for the efforts put forth over the board. It's been a few years since I last played consistently well, so I'm here trying to improve and get back to where I felt I was in the game. Chess, to me, isn't simply just a game...at its core, chess is art.
