I have been interested in chess for about 45 years but had little time to play until retirement (I know it sounds like an excuse). Since joining Chess.com I have enjoyed playing hundreds of games (and am in several tournaments) and have realized a noticeable improvement in my game.
Other hobbies are Astronomy and Winemaking (although I make a point of not making moves after a certain amount of wine - one blunder taught that lesson 
).
