About Me:

Here are 2 videos of Judit Polgar analyzing her game that she won against Boris Gelfand @ Corus 2008.

The intensity in this Karpov - Kasparov video reminds me of my otb tournament days. Karpov looks as cool as ice under pressure, but Kasparov looks as nervous as a long-tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs! When it was all said & done Karpov won the match! Both of them had 25 minutes for each game with 10 second increments (an additional 10 seconds were added to each of their clocks for each move they made). It's a great video, but I just wish it was longer!

I am originally from Laurel, MS, but now I live in Orange Beach, AL. I currently am in the pizza business, but I plan to start troubleshooting & repairing computers soon. I will switch over to this field & become certified once I become proficient enough in it. Although, starting in August '09 I will be taking a computer programming class (C++) & eventually do computer programming  as my profession. I will also take Java, C# & Visual Basic. I am a Christian. I learned to play chess in elementary school (in 4th grade) when I was 9 years old. I love the game because of the huge # of possibilities & because it is an art. My style is similar to Karpov & Flohr (positional, unless I see a good opportunity to attack). Karpov has always been my favorite player ever since I played over his games & studied them from his book My Best Games (the out of print book that RHM printed) in my teens. I was (& still am) heavily influenced by both of them. I've been to the two most famous chess clubs in the country - the Marshall & Manhattan chess clubs in New York City. I played in a tournament @ the Marshall chess club. Some other favorite players of mine are: Timman, Malakhov, Khalifman, Judit Polgar, Krush, Dembo, Kamsky & the two-time United States Champion ('92 & '95) Patrick Wolff (who I had the pleasure of meeting & talking to in New Orleans).
