Someone with an insecure nature and a need to be cruel to younger kids taught me the basic moves when I was 8. More than half a century later Chess.com taught me how to play. It is a wonderful game with a fascinating history, and can satisfy the competitive mind or the carefree mind. I'm cursed with the former, and strive for the latter.
