I am Fide Trainer and International Master Jomo Pitterson. I have been teaching chess for more than 25 years.

Pitterson Chess Institute (PCI) is the name of the chess academy that I founded in order to help players become masters. PCI trains students from all over the world to compete in tournaments at all levels. Any age is acceptable for enrollment. Currently, we train pupils ranging in age from 6 to 70.

Each student receives:

Training Method

 I assess my students in order to create individualized training plans that helps to pave their way to becoming a master. Many of my students have won tournaments; over the past 4 years my students have achieved 30 local tournament victories, 3 international tournament victories and 4 international titles. Since 2016, I have been training the Jamaica Olympiad team, and most recently, I have also begun training the Cayman Islands and St Lucia Olympiad teams. 

Accomplishments

For 30+ years, I traveled the world playing chess, winning countless medals and trophies at national, and regional competitions. I have competed in the FIDE Chess Olympiad on the Jamaican Team 6 times, my best score being 7 out of 9. I also took first place in four international competitions, including the Sub-Zonals where I gained the title of International Master. My aim has always been to help others achieve even greater success than I have in chess.
