About Me:

I am a retired geophysicist who loves to play correspondence chess.  My mentor was Israel Kutasov, a Russian Master, who worked at the Shell Research Lab in Houston with me.  Izzy and I became close friends and he helped me to find my style and become a strong "A" player by 1982 when he became a professor at a top university.  After I retired from Shell, I became interested in correspondence chess.
