I am Kenneth Parker. I live in Carrboro, North Carolina.  I have been interested in Chess, much of my life.

I encountered Official Chess, first in the news (Bobby Fischer of course), and started reading Chess Books.  Games were, mainly casual ways of passing the time.

Then, I moved to Eugene, Oregon in the early 1980's, where I encountered real Chess players, and even got rated B at one point.  But my Computer Career took over my life, and I discovered a Microscopic Universe.  (These are related).   I am now a Computer Consultant,  specializing in Network and Security issues.

I learned Chess through the Descriptive Notation, and most of my Chess Books are in Descriptive Notation.  I am learning Algebraic, but prefer Descriptive.  As a Computer Consultant, I may take up Bi-Lingual Chess Computing at some point (where the Computer would be happy to Translate a Game Score to Descriptive Notation for those, who wish).
