About Me:
I am educated in computer science but currently I am a specialist with a government institute, analyzing data. In my spare time I like watching sports a lot. I play golf myself during the summer months in Iceland and a little bit of soccer, usually once a week. Chess is above all sports/games the one I love. I started playing I think 8 or 9 years old and quickly became to love the game. I did ok when I was younger, was always among the top juniors in Iceland but never won the National junior Ch. mostly because future GM and future junior World Ch. Helgi Ass Gretarsson was the same age as me. I came 2nd in a jr. National Championship once but didn't really win anything. When I was about 17 I more or less stopped playing and studying the game. That nonsense ended in 2000 when I was 23 and I started to play again. First I improved really fast, from 1900 to 2200+ but then slow and steady, gaining FM title and more recently two IM norms.

Post-mortems

Always try to get a post-mortem after the game if you are up for it and even sometimes when you are not in the mood for it. Analysing with stronger players, seeing what they were thinking about during the game can be tremendous help. Also just analys...Read more »
