Blitz tournaments

We will hold blitz tournaments for the Powerful Pawns group.

Prizes

The winner shall receive 100 PP, and the second placer shall receive 50 PP.

Format

On each day, everyone will be matched up against someone else, as in a normal otb tourney. I think it would be a round robin format. The two people who are scheduled to play against each other shall play at the given time, or at any other time that works for both players. They will proceed to play 5 5|0 blitz games against each other. The first game shall be a random color, and the next games shall be rematches, and in alternating color. The player who has a higher score at the end of 5 games shall score a point. If the score is tied, both players will receive a half-point.

No-shows

If you are not able to arrive at a round, please tell us in the forum thread for that tournament. Your opponent will receive the point for that round. Your honesty is appreciated.

Tiebreak

If there is a tie at the end of the tournament, the person with more wins shall win. If there is still a tie, the head-to-head result shall determine the winner.

If the winner still is not determined, the points shall be split. If there is a tie for second, while the winner has been determined, the points will be split and rounded to the next number divisible by 5. For example, if there are 4 people vying for the #1 spot, the 150 points shall be split, but the players shall receive 40 points, not 37.5.

I will post the sign-up forum thread soon. Please comment below with any questions, comments, and considerations. I especially need to know about what kind of time will work for you. Please use GMT as a lingua franca when discussing time.

EDIT: The signup for the first tournament is open.
