hi moderators and developers on this site..I play live chess using my android device..I would like to request something essential.. 1.) interface should have a functionality to let player view previous moves..even the other average software has this I'm confident that chess.com shouldn't have any problem developing that.. 2.) it would be very nice for android users to be able to review previous games and tactics trainer rating and puzzles under went.. I guess I will have a complete chess experience with there 2 little things added to chess for android app.. thanks in advance! more power!

    1. I don't turn off my phone often but I think I have the same experience as Dschango, i.e. the app starts OK after a restart but when I return to it while the phone has been left on it almost always FCs the first time I try.  As I said before I can (almost always) solve this first time by killing apps using Advanced Task Killer.  (I always let Call Light, TweetDeck & Adv TK stay active - so it's not that I need to kill all apps, I guess what's making it work is that I'm just freeing up enough memory.)

    2. Usually the setting for Current Games is remembered but sometimes it resets to Challenges.

    3. I've recently started setting Notifications to 'on' & I notice that it doesn't always work.  Perhaps it does more often than not but I definitely don't always get an alert.  Maybe it's a question of timing - if I waited longer before starting the app & discovering that someone has moved then perhaps the notification would appear.

This is all from playing Online Games only - I don't play Live chess or use the other options much.

this app is wonderful for me, I don't abandon it for long periods of time though. great work!

The application crashes regulary when returning to the app after abandoning it. It seems to start up solid when the app is started the first time (eg after telephone startup).

For Turn based chess, like nairobiny says and like I reported for previous releases,

    1. open turn based chess
    2. choose analyse
    3. Press back to go to the game
    4. change orientation = garbled board state

give it a couple of seconds between each step above.

For Live chess: I cant see any current/open challanges. I create a challange and no one ever accepts it. I am baffled!

btw the force closes are completely gone for me (HTC Desire v2.2)

In "play online" mode, if I make my move but don't submit it, then rotate the phone into horizontal mode, quite often I get a load of garbage on the screen instead of my game. It looks like it's taken my game, added my move then added a load of extra junk moves (many of them involving illegal moves or pieces which don't exist) on top.

However, you can safely cancel out of this screen. It didn't cause a FC on my phone. Rotating back to vertical mode doesn't bring the game back - the garbage remains.

I'm not sure if this is relevant to the problem, but I had been looking at the analysis board before trying to make my move. However, the junk moves didn't even closely resemble what I had been analysing.

Here's another live game, where I did not receive the move from my opponent:

    http://www.chess.com/livechess/game.html?id=117554182.

This time the game looked normal, I just did not receive the move and the time of my opponent was decreasing to 0. I went back (when my opponents time was down to 0) and entered the game again - current live game).

Then I saw that I lost on time.

BTW: thanks for implementing the buttons on the analyze screen!

Still getting force closes.  Maybe less than before but still fairly often.  Almost always fixed by using Advanced Task Killer.

Am amazed no one has mentioned the arrows on the analysis board - very useful.

Only played one Live game & had no problems.  Online seems fine once I've got the app to stay open.

I would not go releasing this app just yet. still force closes continuously on samsung fascinate. I did manage to play half a game out of 3, it ran well while running...

when I won my live game on time I get no message, the screen just stayed right there with my opponent's time at 0.00

the app is smooth and stable :)

and can be moved and played fully on the SD card! WIN!

@ vladimirmalykhin: yes, it was the game you mentioned. On the web interface it showed my opponents move. I did not receive the move to the phone.

    Thanks,

this app seems more stable than any released so far- I made moves online, ogt live just by clicking the "live" button on top, no "another login detected" all around smooth. Thanks guys...

i retract my last statement. after playing for about 3 minutes on live chess, the app force closes then keeps force closing without even touching another button. froze the phone. had to remove the battery to restart.
