More than five trillion pieces of plastic are floating in our oceans,endangering marine life and causing toxins to enter the food chain and harm human health.A collaberation with addidas has spawned a concept footware collection made using ocean plastics.Whats more,their are plans for the shoes to hit shop shelves later in the year.This world first has uppers made of yarns and filaments reclaimed and recycled from the sea and illegal deep-sea gillnets retrived during an exibition tracking a poaching vessel off the coast of west-africa.We want to establish the oceans as a fundamental debate around climate change.Our objective is to boost public awarness and to inspire new collaberations that can contribute to protecting and preserving the oceans.We are extreemly proud that Addidas is putting its creative force behind this partnership to show that it is possible to turn ocean plastic into something cool.So if getting your sea legs has always been an issue,maybe slipping on some ocean inspired sneakers could be the answer and saving marine life is sure to get the seal of approval as well as saving marine life and what eats it from the carcinogens found in plastics.
