yes, I sure hope nakamura wins the world title, I met him once here in seattle, played poker with him, it would be nice to see an american win the world title again, and nakamura is our best player,,,
Have you not heard of something called the ELO system or something called tournament results? Public opinion is the last thing I would go to for an answer to the question you posed.
He'll have a hard time taking down others like Carlson & Anand, etc.
Nak. has prob no chance cause all the experience out in the world
Maybe! But he needs coach like ME!
Neither am I a fan of Nakamura.
I'm not a fan of Nakamura.
Nakamura is a strong GM, but is difficult to say his future, because are a young GMs that come pushing to the most high in chess, but never knows what happens in the field of chess.
People voting yes are fools. He won a strong tournament. He needs to do a lot more than that to be a realistic contender for the world championship.
He will have to stay on and wait for a while to stand a chance. And so my prediction is that since Chess is not going to win for him bread and support his family, he will have to go look fot survival and may be who knows, that time will see him quit all together.
YEAH BUT NO AINT NO MUSLIM GONNA WIN THE CHESS CHAMPIONSHIP WHILE MY WATCH IS STILL ON
I'd say yes
Nakamura has to many outstanding competitiors to defeat and overcome. He is talented, yet he tied to Anand in the Tata Steel, but no. I don't believe he will ever achieve the title of World Champion.
I think he's very talented, but no. I don't think he'll be world champion. He might have been FIDE champion back when they were doing knockout tournaments.
Dont hope see, i dont like him
Guys Topalov is done, he isn't good anymore.
you are aware that Ivanchuk kicks Topalov's and Carlsen's ass and the only reason that he doesn't become a WC or second is because mentality.
Yes he did win Wijk aan Zee (Tata). That might be the zenith of Nakamura's career... or he may find it in himself to do better. As of now, he's an unproven quantity in match play. I do not think that he could defeat Anand, Topalov, Carlsen, or even Ivanchuk in a match.
"What other player has finished ahead of three 2800+ players in a tournament?"
Tata is the only tournament ever to include 3 2800+ players.
played him at age of nine, he was a cocky little B one year later he was a master . genious, but ego proberly restricts him a little. had dad who teaches proberly cant help much now. He needs drive to do it , believe he can. Needs good team.
