This is an amazing lecture!! I love endgames and I enjoyed listening to your analysis and topic of discussion about chess style types. I'm definitely a fighter! Cool

Great video thank for your honesty. It is nice to know that Grandmasters face the same issues as us mere mortals.  Interesting topic certainly made me think about my game again many thanks

Lasker, Tarrasch another example and fear comes into it because we are all afraid of loosing. If the result could be taken out of chess things would be different i am sure. Lasker like to say "besides this fear of danger there is no danger here and he who fears this danger does deserve his fear".

Was gonna tweet you Danny b/c I knew you'd appreciate this. You've even used "we're not scientists" before. Fighters all the way!

if danny doesnt know enough to be a scientist, then i guess im relegated to being a fighter:p

i certainly spend a lot of time trying to look for the best move, and i feel like this gives me the best chance to win. however, i usually find myself down on time and am not able to find those same moves as the game goes on. i usually think that the computer equals truth and therefore the best way to win the game.

so i guess im a scientist type in that im being very analytical, trying to find best move, but i dont have the knowledge to find it often

I think there is a 3rd type of player: that of the "artist".  He/she is more concerned with the "beauty/asthetics" of a move or a game and neither with the validity/truth (scientist) or the outcome (fighter).

The title of the article got me thinking about my chess personality.  Also, I got to thinking about what could be gained from determining my opponent's disposition.  But the content, while informative, had nothing to do with the title.

I really liked this. I am definitely a fighter, but that's partly because I don't know enough about chess to be considered a "scientist" Tongue Out.

    Thanks Gregory!
