Another very strong turnout at the library tournament yesterday! Congrats to Elliot on his perfect performance and the win! This week's tournament we introduced clocks with the delay feature. Players started with 5 minutes and had a 10 second delay (10 non-additive "free" seconds at the beginning of each turn before eating into your 5 minute total for the game). This solved a couple of issues we were having. One was that we were having some drawn positions taking a very long time to resolve, and lots of kids waiting around. Second, the kids noticed how fast they had been playing, and how some of the longer thinkers tended to be more successful!
