At the moment (Nov 6, 6pm) Pinellas currently stands at #33 out of 145 teams, and our record is 2 - 1 after today's default victory over Edinburgh U.  This is a marked improvement  over our 3 - 7 record last season.  On Sun. Nov. 7, Chess Heroes will provide commentary on some of the Round 3 matches at  https://www.twitch.tv/chessheroes .

Chess & Bridge are very kindly sponsoring this season of the 20/20 Championship League with £500 worth of gift vouchers from their store (https://chess.co.uk).  The director of 20/20 has decided to distribute it (at the end of the season, I suppose) as follows:

£20 for Fair Play Award

£20 for Best Performing Junior (under 18)

£20 for Team that fields the most players

£20 Secret Bonus Prize

£20 for Best individual performance in a game (for example a 1000 beating a GM, a superb checkmate)

£100 for Top Streamers of the 20/20 World League

£50 for Best team from North America

£50 for Best team from South America

£50 for Best team from Africa

£50 for Best team from Asia

£50 for Best team from Europe

£50 for Best team from Oceania

This is on top of the $5000 prize fund from Chess.com ($3000 to the 1st place team, $1500 to 2nd place, $500 to 3rd place). No team will be eligible to win 'best team from [their continent]' as well as money from the prize fund from Chess.com for a podium finish, in that event it will be reallocated elsewhere.

20/20 also has a new partnership with Soul Sanity, an organization focusing on Mental Wellbeing.  There is a Chess coaching session available starring Malaysia National Champion Bernard Chan, for example, at www.soulsanity.io/mastermind, have a look at the range of sessions they run as well!  They are offering credits for their classes as prizes for the tournament, with one credit = one class per person. These are transferrable so you can give them to a friend as a gift if you prefer.  These will be awarded, as things stand and at the tournament director's discretion, as follows:

- 1 Credit as a Fair Play Award for every round (12 in total, which includes the Play-Offs)

- 4 Credits for the highest placed team in the league that has an average age of Under 18

- 4 Credits per team that qualify for the Play-Offs but do not win any other prizes.

-  1 Credit for whoever wins an individual game fastest in the least moves (not by opponent disconnecting!)
