2020-2021 Division 3 Final Standings
2020-21 Season Final Standings: Division 3
The 2020-21 season was one of growth for Division 3, with several teams showing improvement from past seasons and throughout the year. Georgia rejoined the league after two seasons away, and acquitted themselves very well in the division, and Virginia came away with their first victory in two seasons.
However, like with Division 2, the newly-relegated team came away with the championship, as Alabama finished with a perfect 7-0 record, including a 27.5-10.5 victory over Utah in a 19-board match, quite large for Division 3. It is their second Division 3 championship, and they have returned to Division 2 with a vengeance in 2021-22.
Despite the loss, Utah was able to defeat the rest of their foes, earning the silver. They also featured large lineups throughout the season, and their second-place trophy is their fourth such trophy in team history. Illinois fills out the podium, with their only losses coming against the aforementioned Alabama and Utah, and their narrow 7.5-6.5 victory over Kentucky proved to be the decisive result. It is their second trophy since joining Division 3 in 2017-18.
Congratulations to all teams who have earned trophies, and best of luck as you continue your 2021-22 seasons! All results, including adjustments due to fair play closures, have been adjudicated as of December 31st, 2021.
