2024 Wyoming State Closed Chess Tournament 
Saturday September 28th and Sunday September 29th.
Tournament Location: Kalif Shrine Temple, 145 West Loucks Street, Sheridan, Wy 82801
Tournament Director: Dan Mattson from Montana
Divisions: State Championship, Qualifier Division and u1000 Division
All divisions: Entry fee $30 by September 22th and $40 after the 22nd.
Payout will be 80% of registration fees less expenses.
Registration 8:00 AM to 8:30 AM, Saturday, September 28th.
5 games Swiss-style with time control: G/90 d5
Players <1000 must pay a $10 play-up fee to enter the Qualifier Division.
Rounds: Saturday 9:00 AM; 1:30 PM; 6:00 PM. Sunday 8:30 AM; 1:30 PM.

Championship Division Players must register by midnight, Sunday, September 22nd.
Champion Division consists of the 5 highest rated players and the winner of the 2023
Qualifier Division.
Note: players in the Championship Division must commit to playing all five rounds. 
Withdrawing from the Championship Division will make the withdrawing player
Ineligible to compete in the 2025 Championship Division.
Qualifier Division: The winner of the 2024 Qualifier Division earns a slot in the 2025 
Championship.

Players must be a member of the US Chess Federation and a Wyoming resident to play
or must have been a resident of Wyoming for more than 50% of the previous year. 
The Sheridan Chess Association has negotiated a discounted hotel room at the rate of
61.75 to 99.75+ taxes, with breakfast at the Mill Inn, 2161 Coffeen Ave. - 307-672-6401.
Sheridan Chess Association has also negotiated a discounted hotel room rate of 
$112.00 + taxes, at the Candlewood Suites. No breakfast provided, but rooms come 
with a kitchenette. 1709 Sugarland Dr., Sheridan, WY - 307-675-2100.
