Hello USTCL players and admins, and welcome to another offseason! All matches are now either complete or in progress, and other than a couple forfeits near the end, the 2024-25 season has gone smoothly. Thanks as always to all team admins for your efforts.

As our offseason tournament this year, @MasterMatthew52 has kindly offered to run a Chess960 tournament! Chess960, also known as Fischer Random chess, is a variant of chess where the opening position is randomized (with some rules). You can learn more about Chess960 here. Additionally, we are in the preliminary stages of exploring a US Vote Chess League, as a sibling league to the USTCL. @Andrewt00 is taking the lead on this with assistance from myself. Any club admins interested in registering their teams should join the US Vote Chess League club page, and if you are interested in helping out as a league admin, please message @Andrewt00 or myself.

Keep an eye out for registration for the 2025-26 season, to come in late May or early July. Confirming all teams in the preseason has really helped to minimize early-season delays, so we will be continuing that.
