2026 Offseason Chess 960 mini-league
Team Louisiana will play in an offseason Chess 960 league in 2026 - similar to the league we played in last year. It will be one move every 3 days. If there is decent participation in this offseason event from teams in divisions 3, 4, and 5 (from regular chess - 2025-26 USTCL), then our opponents will be familiar to us. If not, then we may play some teams from division 5 or from division 3 in our offseason chess 960 league. We will challenge or be challenged by another state by April 23 - and the games (2 per matchup - one with White and one with Black) will begin on April 30. Our division will be either 5 or 6 teams - again, this depends on the participation. I can bar you from playing if you lose on time in greater than 15% of the total number of games you lose. Losing on time is a BAD habit - and it inhibits chess growth/development and improvement. I know things happen. The point is play your best, watch out for weak spots (totally undefended pawns at the starting position), keep observing (and exploiting) your opponents’ weak spots. Be ready for the challenge, join the match, play your best chess. Go Team Louisiana!
