2nd NSF Live Tournament is starting today!

Rules are as follows:

All the games are played with 90' time control except the tie-breaking games which are explained below.

All the games are arranged between participants themselves.

Game time and date has to be posted by one of the contestants to TD (maxamilion) at least 24 hours before the game starts to avoid any mix-ups.

Round 1:

All players are divided into two groups and each participant play all others twice (once as white and once as black) in so called double round-robin. There's 1 point for win and 1/2 point for draw, obviously no points are awarded for loss.

In this stage two top players from each group advance two the next round of the tournament. As the tie-breaker we're gonna use Neustadtl score, the same system Chess.com use for correspondence tournaments. Simple explanation of how it works can be found here.

Round 2:

Top player of the group 1 plays with second player of group 2 and top player of group 2 plays with second player of group 1. This is knock-out stage of the tournament, only winners will advance further. In the event of tie at this stage of tournament there will be pair of 2 extra games played with time control 30'+15" until one of the players wins the set.

Round 3:

The final round of the tournament consists of 4 games with 90' time control. In the event of the tie after this four games a pair of 30' +15" will be played until on of the players wins the set.

TD reserves the right to bring in changes to the rules at any point of the tournament.

Any problem that might arise will be resolved by TD and his decision is final in all aspects of the tournament.
