Hey PPCC Folks,

Spring has finally sprung in New York, and we here at the Prospect Park Chess Club have enjoying the (sometimes) nice weather and warmer temps.  If you haven't come by the club yet, now is the best time.  We're seeing new faces every week -- from beginners to masters!  The outdoor tables are back at HasenStuble, so any Wednesday night that has comfortable weather, you'll find us playing out on the front patio.  Here's a depiction of just what that might look like:

3-Check Tournament on May 17th!

I hope y'all are ready for our next tournament, because it's coming up in a couple of weeks!  We'll be hosting a 3-Check tournament on Wednesday, May 17th at 7PM.  Click on this link to sign up (just give us your name and your approximate rapid/blitz rating so that we set up the Round 1 pairings).

As usual, you'll be competing for a totally legitimately, completely not fake, 24K solid gold trophy, in addition to your chess honor and personal dignity, so make sure you study up and bring the cheekiest 3-Check game ya got!

Saturdays in the Park are making a comeback!

We'll resume planning Saturday meetups in Prospect Park now that it is getting nice outside!  We usually will meet up at the Prospect Park Chess Boards near E Lake Dr or at the LeFrak Center.  Keep an eye on the "Saturdays?!" subchannel in the discord (link at the bottom of this announcement) for further planning and details, as we typically coordinate these during the week once we have a better idea of what the weather will be like that Saturday.
