I am pleased to announce the opening of the April Fool's Contest! For 48 hours, from now until 1 April at 23:59 Hawaii Time (follow it here: Time in Honolulu, Hawaii now or with the clock that you can see on the club's sidebar), the submission forum will be open to anyone who would like to submit their blog to this amazing festival.

This is our second spin-off contest, and we hope for a good participation rate. This would motivate us to create more similar events on other special dates.

Remember that we need to receive at least 10 entries to make sure we keep hosting them! So do your part and contribute to it!

RULES

The post must be about chess and also be related to April Fool's Day in some way. That's the only general requirement; everything else is up to the writer. Get creative and surprise us!

The judges are @VOB96, @KevinChessSmith, and @nova-stone. They will read all blogs and choose their favorites based on:

• As usual, the blogging basics like thumbnail, title, writing, editing, research, etc.
• But since this is a special contest and the topic is more or less defined, we will also give some more importance than usual to originality, creativity, different approaches that few people would think of... that kind of stuff.

PRIZES

Bronze: I will mention your blog in my next post on 15 April.

Silver: The same as for 3rd place + you will be a judge at the Blogger Awards in May (or at any other month if May is not possible).

Gold: The same as the 3rd and 2nd prizes + one month of gold membership (if you are already a premium member, I will probably give you a gift card)
