Upcoming News & Events:
1. News:
- Survey: We gotten good feedback from our survey so we're going to leave it open for the month of August. If you want to give feedback of what you'd like to see from us, feel free to fill out this optional survey: https://forms.gle/n8UhhyBxcTa47hNw8
-Monthly Quick Format change: We are going to make the following changes to our Monthly USCF-rated Quick:
a. New start-time: 6:45PM MST
b. New time-control: G/10+2
c. New number of rounds and format: four rounds, Swiss-System tournament
d. New section: Public (free entry; no prize for this section)
We're making these changes to make sure players have a chance to still play a competitive game when low on time. We also wanted to add a round to make sure new USCF players will come out of our tournament with an official provisional USCF rating (given after four rated games), rather than one based on three games. Lastly, we did want to add a section, the Public section, that allows new players/beginners a chance to compete in tournament that allows them to get more practice before diving into the real thing.
2. Events:
- (8/28) CCC August Quick Tournament (entry $5 for USCF-rated section; free for Public section):
