BlogChamps Season 3 Finals Results + Season 4 Registration
Well well well, the end is finally here. Top-seeded @Mugiwara vs the underdog @Lethal_Knights. both competitors took until the very last hour (and, in mugi's case, the very last second) to post their blogs, but in the end we did get two quality posts and we did have a finals match to judge. For the last time, the season 3 judges @Lightning, @Rodgy, @anikolay, @DonRajesh, and @Nimzo-IndianaJones cast their votes, and here... the results are in.
Who will it be... @Lethal_Knights, who strayed from his educational content and attempted to write an otb tournament recap in the finals?
Or.... will it be @Mugiwara, who earned the top overall seed in the bracket, has swept everyone he has faced thus far, and waited until the literal final seconds before the deadline to post his blog?
Ahem
Well
We had two very good blogs here in the finals... however, the judges are all in agreement that one blog was simply better than the other.
Completing perhaps the most dominant run in BlogChamps history, congratulations @mugiwara, our Season 3 BlogChampion! Earning the top seed in the qualifiers and then sweeping the competition in the knockouts.... not bad, not bad at all. Congrats to Lethal on a successful season, we hope to see you return for another shot at the title next season.
As part of his victory, mugi will be offered a spot on the Season 4 judging panel if he is interesting.
Speaking of Season 4... https://www.chess.com/clubs/forum/view/season-4-registration-1 go register there! And check out the format at https://www.chess.com/announcements/view/blogchamps-season-1-format-rules I don't believe any changes will be made. Expect the season to start around July 1st if possible, and registration is open throughout the duration of the qualifiers.
Now, as you may have heard by now, this was my last season here and I am handing over the competition to someone else. There weren't honestly many applications to consider here, which was a little surprising, but lo and behold, few people want to put in the time to run the competition. I chose the best applicant, however, and believe he will do very will runnin the show. @alphaous, I wish you luck, hope you won't need it.
Alpha will also be a judge, despite not being a top blogger, because we don't really have many options at judge for the upcoming season. I believe Nimzo is returning, I can confirm @HornetCruise is joining the judging panel, and mugi is TBD for now. We'll get the judge situation sorted out, but rest assured, there will again be 5 judges.
Welp, it's been fun, y'all. Three solid seasons of BlogChamps, and we've produced many top bloggers here, I'm quite proud of what we've built here, and I'm proud that we withstood all the spam and toxicity brought here by certain members (you know who I'm talking about if you've been here long enough). Even though I am stepping down, I'll still keep an eye on things, check in every now and then, ya know. I hope to see this continue to do well and grow the journeys of all aspiring top bloggers. thanks for 3 fun seasons... this is @Lightning, signing off for the last time here. Congrats to @mugiwara, good luck everyone in Season 4... so long, and... happy blogging : )
