Box Hill Match
To all members and chess players
The Committee of the club has agreed to accept a challenge from Box Hill Chess Club to an online match to be held on the chess.com platform. The match will be played on Saturday 2nd May starting at 2.30pm.
The match will be played over a minimum of 10 boards and a maximum of 25 unless we receive a greater level of interest from members. The time control will be 10 minutes each player plus a 3 second increment from move 1. There will be 2 games for each player against the same opponent, one each with white and black.
If you would like to be included in the match could you please let Kevin know within the next 24 hours. You can do that by reply email, phone call/text 0418 533 517 or message to KevinP201 on chess.com We need to know promptly so as can advise Box Hill that the match is on and of our likely numbers. We would like as many of our regular and online members to play and represent our club in this match. It will be our first attempt at an online inter-club event. Hopefully others will follow. There are no entry fees but all players must be a financial club member or have signed up to the junior coaching program.
If anyone still wishes to join the Teters Memorial Tournament for round 2 of the 7 rounds this Thursday, it is not too late to enter. However please advise Ruari Coffey at ruari.coffey@gmail.com or myself promptly. See the club website for more details.
