Can You Spot the Wrong Move?
Dear Chess Friends!
We’re used to looking for the best move — the most precise calculation, the winning tactic, the correct continuation. But in this Sunday’s interactive workshop, I’ll challenge you to look at the board from a different angle:
Can you find the move that looks logical… but actually loses?
This new session is called “Find a Wrong Move,” and it’s structured as a quiz. You’ll be presented with real positions — many based on practical games — and asked to spot which tempting or “natural” move leads to trouble. Then we’ll work through why, and what the better alternative is.
🗓 Date: 08/24
⏰ Time: 11 a.m. EDT, 4 p.m. UK time, 5 p.m. CET
In this special format, you will:
- Practice identifying tactical traps hiding behind normal-looking moves
- Learn to spot logical errors before they happen — not after
- Train your pattern recognition and calculation under light pressure
- Discover how strategy and tactics are often connected in subtle ways
- See real examples of mistakes from club players and world champions
Why should you attend?
Chess isn’t just about seeing the best move. It’s also about avoiding the worst one. Even strong players fall into well-disguised tactical traps. This session will help sharpen your vigilance and improve your ability to punish or avoid hidden mistakes.
