CCC Newsletter: August 25
Happy August everyone! Hope Summer has been good to everyone so far.
This month, we’ll be focused more on casual club events, but still plan to have a quick tournament at the end of the month and a Chess.com team-rematch against the SLC Chess Club from The City Library!
Aside from that, the UCA is hosting a Round-Robin Quad tournament this upcoming Saturday, now at a g/25+5 time-control!
July Recap:
First, we wanted to congratulate again our club’s Summer League winners: 1st: Mario Homer (3/4pts); 2nd: Andre Herrera (3/4pts); 3rd: Jason Barton (2.5/4pts)!

We also wanted to congratulate the players of our July quick tournament for some tough competition, especially Benjamin Watanabe, Maxim Dermenji, Kevin Clarkson, and Jason Barton, who all finished with 3/4pts in the USCF section, out of 9 players!
Plus, our Community section had a small turn-out of six players. There, we saw Camden Lamb finish with 4/4pts, Praneet Verma with 3/4pts, then a two-way tie for third by Gabriel Eduards and Brooke Bardsley.
