We hope everyone is enjoying their summer so far. This month, we’ll be pausing our monthly Quick. It will return in July with a date that is TBD.
In it’s place, we’ll be running a USCF-rated chess league, and hosting a beginner friendly chess ladder.

CCC Quick: May 25
We had some pretty close match-ups with nine players in May’s Quick! We’d like to congratulate the following:

- Weekly Casual Meetup: Bring a board or find an open seat for free, casual games of chess! Perfect for beginners and club players to play and practice.
When: Every Friday from 7pm - 9pm

- CCC Summer League! (USCF-rated)
This June, we’ll be hosting our CCC Summer League! A four week league, one game a night, with games to last G/25+5 (25 minutes plus five seconds per move)!
When: 6/13 - 7/11 (no meetup on 7/4/25)
Where: Kneader’s Bakery & Café @ City Creek Mall.
Format: Swiss System.
Time-control: G/25;+5.
Entry Fee: $10. (Late entry: $10 by 6/20; $5 after 6/20.)
Prize: 1st: $30; 2nd: $25; 3rd: $20.

- CCC Community Ladder!
Join us for a free event this June called the CCC Community Ladder!
The Community Ladder is a free weekly event, open to all skill levels, and will help give players a close game and play for a CCC Club Rating (CR)!

- (6/14) 2025 Utah G/60 Championship - Three sections with four rounds each! A well paced tournament with the time-control of G/60+5 for the Premier section, G/45+5 for the Reserve, and G/30+5 for the Booster section.

- (6/20) SLC Chess Club: Come out from 3pm - 6pm to The City Library in downtown SLC for some free casual chess. Chess sets are provided!
