Subject: Request for a Dedicated Chat Room within Chess.com Club
Dear Chess.com Support Team,
I hope this message finds you well. I am writing on behalf of our chess club, Paladins of Chess, to discuss a potential improvement that we believe would enhance the overall experience for our members and many others within the Chess.com community. We have been enjoying our time on Chess.com, but we've encountered some challenges with the current chat system, which we would like to address.
As an active and thriving chess club, communication and interaction among our members are essential for organizing events, discussing strategies, and fostering a sense of community. Currently, the primary means of communication is through the "Notes" section, as many of our members find it more user-friendly compared to the live chat box. While the Notes section serves as a functional platform for chatting, it comes with some limitations and inconveniences.
The main issues we have identified are:
Notification Overload: The Notes section is not well-suited for real-time communication, and our members have been forced to disable notifications to prevent excessive alerts. As a result, we often miss important messages, such as meeting notifications and votes, leading to decreased participation.
Small and Unappealing Chat Box: The current live chat box is small, making it less conducive for active conversations. Many of our members find the appearance and layout to be uninviting, which discourages them from using it effectively.
To address these challenges and improve the overall experience for our club members, we would like to propose the implementation of a separate chat room within our Chess.com club. This chat room would essentially resemble the Notes page but is exclusively dedicated to real-time chatting. By doing so, we believe it would provide the following advantages:
Streamlined Interaction: A dedicated chat room would facilitate more efficient and real-time communication among our members, ensuring that important messages, such as meeting notices or votes, are seen promptly.
User-Friendly Design: The familiar Notes page layout would make the chat room more appealing and user-friendly, encouraging more members to participate actively in discussions.
Quick Access: The chat room could feature a list of club administrators and easy access to other club-related events and forums, making it a one-stop hub for all club activities.
We understand that implementing such changes may require technical adjustments, but we believe it would significantly enhance the overall experience for our club and Chess.com users in general. We kindly request your consideration of this proposal and look forward to your feedback and insights on its feasibility and potential timeline for implementation.
Please let us know if you require any additional information or if you would like to discuss this matter further. Our club is excited about the prospect of a dedicated chat room, and we are open to working closely with Chess.com to bring this idea to fruition.
Thank you for your attention and your continued support of the Chess.com community. We appreciate your efforts in making Chess.com an excellent platform for chess enthusiasts.
Sincerely ,
Thank you
Mordernbarn
