Chess Club Rules

1. Respect & Behavior

• Be respectful to all members at all times.

• No trash talk, bullying, swearing, or harassment.

• Win or lose gracefully.

• Follow Chess.com Fair Play rules (no cheating or engine use).

2. Activity Requirements

• Members should participate in at least 2 club games or activities per month.

• Joining club matches and Vote Chess is encouraged.

3. Chat & Communication

• Club chat is for chess-related or friendly conversation.

• No spamming, advertising, or flooding the chat.

• Use appropriate language at all times.

4. Matches & Tournaments

• Join club matches when possible.

• If you sign up for a match or tournament, you must play your games.

• Time controls will be announced before each event.

5. Warnings & Discipline

• 1st offense: Warning

• 2nd offense: Temporary mute or restriction

• 3rd offense: Removal from the club

• Cheating results in immediate removal.

• No begging for promotions.

6. Fair Play

• No outside assistance during games.

• No intentional stalling.

• No sandbagging (losing on purpose).

7. Club Purpose

• The club exists for improvement, competition, and enjoyment.

• Helping other members improve is encouraged.

Staff Rules (Admins & Super Admins Only)

• Admins and Super Admins must not:

  • Demote other staff members

  • Kick, ban, or mute members

  Unless a rule has clearly been broken.

• If a rule is broken, report it to the Owner.

• Do not start a team match without approval from:

  • A Super Admin, or

  • The Owner

  This ensures the best decision for the team.
