CHESS FEST!!!
We are excited to invite all of you to Chess Fest at the New Canaan Library. It’s a day dedicated to celebrating chess for all ages and skill levels, whether you’re a seasoned player or just getting started. This event is open to everyone and all events are free!
Tournaments
- NC Classic (10:45 AM): USCF Rated Quads. G/30 d/5. $25 + 32Pro to the winner of each quad!
- Rush Hour Blitz (3:45 PM): A speed chess, unrated/casual tournament open to everyone. Total Prize Fund: $50 + Chess.com Diamond Memberships
Instructional Sessions
Receive individualized instruction from our experienced Chess Teachers. Open to all beginners and intermediate players.
Other Activities
- Casual Play (10:30 AM - 12:30 PM): Enjoy casual games, meet other players, and try different chess variants.
- Simultaneous Exhibition (from 12:30 PM): Watch or play against an expert facing multiple players.
- Piece Stacking Competition: Sign up with a team of family or friends to build the tallest tower with chess pieces—fun for all!
