Some more info concerning it:-
Principles:
A simple single elimination bracket style Team Match Tournament. Win and you advance, lose and your out. This is just a Fun,Fast way to play a entire tournament in 4 months!
The concept is pretty simple, "Quad" stands for several things, 4 players per team, 4 months per tournament, 4 tournaments per year.
Tournament Details:
The Brackets are available in two ratings or "Divisions", a Division I - 1300-1699 rated players, & Division II 1700- 2150 Rated Players.(Based on resulting participation, we may add a Class III. We will see if there is a need)
This tournament is a sixteen Quad single Elimination style Team Match Tournament. A Quad is a group of four (4) players of similar playing strength. In this league, Elimination Matches are played between two of the Quads, once as black, once as white, played simultaneously. The teams that applied and are accepted, will field a "Quad" in either Division I or Division II or Both. Each team needs to field Four (4) players in each of the Division ranges they wish to enter. Be sure you have enough players.
Groups may enter their Quads into each rating bracket once per Quarter. Each Quad plays two games against another Quad of his/her bracket. The top scoring Quad in each matchup advances to the next round. To keep the tournament on schedule, each round is limited to 45 days. At the end of the 45 days, the scores in each match are checked, whether the match is complete or not, and the team with the highest number of games won on that date wins the match. If the match score is tied then it is scored as a draw. In the event of a tie,the Quad whose first lost came last gets priority. The final round will result in a Champion. The Winning Quad will receive custom Trophy for their group page. There will be a maximum of sixteen Quads in each of the two rating brackets. At the end of each season, there will be a Tournament of Champions. This will consist of the four winning Quads that year. The Champion Quads will be invited back to play for the title of The Grand Champions Of COQT of 2012.

As defined by chess.com rules, you can NEVER use chess programs (Chessmaster, Fritz, etc) to analyze current ongoing games. This is covered a couple of times in this guide. Why? to make sure that everyone understands that this is unnacceptable. Chess.com staff will be invited to help oversee the games. They may or may not choose to spot audit. We simply open the doors, they may, or may not, want to come in and look around. If engines are your thing, try ICS.
