Club Website Updates

Hi all,

Nothing too exciting to report (it's still the close season afterall and we're all "recharging our batteries!"

That said, I have made a few changes to the club website (http://www.daventrychessclub.co.uk) 

Main changes are as follows: 

• Some general grammatical changes (nothing major)

• On “about us” the panel with the quotes has been changed. The “indents” to each side of the frame have been increased to better allow all of the text to be seen. Because the font has been italicised, using the original settings for paragraphing caused some of the text to not show correctly.

• News has been updated. The “author” of each article is now inserted in bold italics at the end of each article (at the moment, I’m the only contributor but this narcissistic appearance should dissipate as team captains etc, submit news articles to me – or if any club member or member of this group has anything else they would like published. It might be a nice game they played etc, and these can all be published as articles with links to games etc, might tie in nicely with the chess.com page for the club as well (since this is where you can publish games). In short, it will be nice if other club members wish to contribute that way it saves me having to “make stuff up” all the time!!

• The news page was updated with information on the group on chess.com. I do think that this group AND the website can work nicely together since this group affords us an easy way to publish games and a link can readily be provided via the website as well.

• Links page was updated with a link to the Daventry club group (here on chess.com)
