The Central Nebraska Chess Club is hosting our Winter Chess Tournament on February 22nd at the Harmon Park Activity Center! All ages and skill levels welcome.

All ages and skill levels welcome.We’ll be awarding medals to the top players in each section, and there are also Year-End Section Trophies up for grabs for the top combined scores in each section throughout the year.
About Rodney Malpert:
Senior Master (SM): The highest title in US Chess, earned with an extraordinary 2400+ rating.
Nebraska Chess Prodigy: Became a Nebraska State Champion at 16 and achieved the Master title in junior high school in Lincoln during the 1970s.
State Champion in Oklahoma and runner-up in New York—a consistent champion across states.
Senior Master Title: Attained in the 1990s during graduate school in New York after a return to competitive chess.
Rodney is now embracing chess philanthropy and mentoring in Nebraska while competing in Senior Championships.

Analyze games with players, offering expert insights.
Deliver an inspiring 15-minute talk on an endgame position, showcasing the great beauty of chess through a simplified position.
Play a simultaneous exhibition with participants after the awards ceremony.
