This Week's Club Events
5:15 p.m. Developmental Class (Sign Up) [K-8]
6:15 p.m. Developmental Class (Sign Up) [HS-Adult]
Developmental classes are suited for new players and players rated under 1000.
4:45 p.m. Kid's Night
Suited for K-12 players who are new or rated under 1000, we offer a rated tournament with a medal to the winner, an unrated tournament for new players with a USCF membership to the winner, and free casual play.
Kid's Night Registration
6:30 p.m.: Quad Night! G/25+10. Quads place you in a group of four players as closely rated to you as possible, with three rounds to determine the winner. $20 Entry fee can win $40 ($45 for a perfect score). You must be registered by 6:20 p.m. to participate, so don't wait until it's too late!
Quad Night Registration
6:00 p.m.: Adults-Only Class (Sign Up).
7:00 p.m.: Advanced Class (Sign Up)

  • 5 p.m. Free Lessons
  • 6 p.m. Blitz II: 4 rounds of 3+2 blitz.
  • 7 p.m. October Classical Month Round 4 - one round of G/60+30 each week during the month of October, join any week!

Weekly Results Corner
Kid's Night: 
We had 19 students compete at the Columbia Chess Club’s Kids Night tournament hosted by Coach James! Coaches Tyler, Sean, and Brandon guided our future masters through their first lessons and games, helping new players learn the ropes in a fun, supportive environment.
We also took a moment to celebrate Carson Norton’s birthday!

🏅 Lower Section Medalist: Emmett Gonzales — in his first-ever tournament!
Kid's Night Rating Report
Quad NightCongratulations to NM Pat SciaccaAarush PandaTyler MurrahLogan Santos, & Tucker Norton for winning their quads. Notable upsets were Thomas Kemp Jr. getting a win over a national master, and Larry Feng winning a game against an opponent 200 points higher rated.

Thursday Main Meeting:
We had 24 competitors in the Rapid Tournament, where Thomas Kemp Jr. and Tyler Murrah shared 1st and 2nd place, with Aaryav Saha taking 3rd while remaining undefeated.

In the Classical Round, 30 players competed. Paul Copeland leads the top section, followed by Sean Miller and James BrandmairKrithik Kummari scored an impressive 200+ point upset, and Jason Cheng earned a draw against an opponent rated over 360 points higher.
 
In the lower section, Carson Norton leads the pack, with Ed Gize and Oliver Su close behind. Vivaan Biswal also achieved a great result, drawing with an opponent rated more than 240 points higher.
