Complete Compilation of All Nine Atomic Chess Variations
The Orthrus Attack
Queen's Pawns Variation
This opening is good for devolpment for both White and Black.
Accepted
This opening prevents any mischief with the Knights. You can now trade or develop easily.
The Knight's Side Attack
Trapped Horse Variation
This opening trades the Knights early. Black has a slight advantage because of the developed pawn.
DeclinedThis is the better way to go. White can develop the c3 pawn and protect the Queen from the c6 Knight.
The Killer Whale Attack
Hanging Queen Variation
This is an extremly bad opening for White. The Queen is free meat by turn 3. The only advantage is that the agressive Queen moves can throw your opponent off guard.
Retreating Queen Variation
There is little that White can do in this situation. There's M1 with the Bishop, trading pawns is futile, and White is down on development. The Killer Whale Attack is just not a very good opening for White.
The Random Penguin Attack
Flying Queen Variation
This opening is bad for White. The Knight is going to have to un-develop or move, and the Queen is pretty much stuck. The only advantage of this opening is that an opponent will, 8 out of 10 times, not know what to do.
Center Pawn FightAgain, a bad opening for White. Again, opponent won't know what to do. This variation is slightly better than the one above, though.
Queenside AttackOpen Variation
This is a good, solid opening. Works well for development, and White and Black are pretty even.
Two Knights Variation
This opening is not the best for Black, as it puts two Knights on the rims, but, all-in-all, it's a pretty stable course of playing.
Reverse Orthrus Attack
Attacking Bishop Variation
This is an extremly bad openign for White. Already lost a Bishop, and checkmate is staring them straight in the face. It's avoidable, but horrible nonetheless.
Challenging Queen VariationThis is a horrible opening for both Black and White. This opening should never be played in a real game of Atomic Chess.
Whirlpool Attack
Jagged Lightning Variation
Solid opening, not much to say here.
Stormwrecked Ship Variation
This is a very good opening for White. White is now up three points of material and has more pieces developed.
Crazy Horse Attack
Fearless Queen Variation
This is not a good opening for Black. No matter which way you put it, it always ends in a Knight for a Queen.
Early Queen Variation
This Variation sacs the Queen early, hence the name. It is a very bad openign for Black.
The Horsey Defense
Unbridled Pony VariationThis is a very bad opening for White. The Knight for a pawn sac is useless.
Declined
This is a much better way to do it. White and Black are both playing it slow and defensive.
