Confusion by Robert Abbott

I don't know if I'd call Robert Abbott's Confusion a chess variant or not.  Perhaps it is best described as a hybrid of chess and deductive logic.  The interesting thing is: unlike Stratego, say, where you don't know the identity of your opponent's pieces, in Confusion you don't know the identity of your own pieces !

The good new is: after languishing for years, Confusion has finally found a publisher.  According to the publisher's website, the game should appear on store shelves sometime in the fall of 2010.  It looks like the price will be in the neighborhood of $50US.

The publisher has pasted a Cold War theme onto the game as a typical marketing ploy, but don't be dismayed.  It is the same beautiful abstract game it always was.
