We've been horsing around lately at Prospect Park Chess Club...

While we all love Chess at the PPCC, a good portion of us show up every week at HasenStuble to hang out and socialize with our growing Prospect Park Chess Club family! We meet every Wednesday night to play a few games, drink a few beverages, and discuss the latest Chess drama (we at PPCC highly enourage any form of chess cheating that involves remote-controlled adult toys).

If you haven't stopped by to check out the Club yet, now is the perfect time to enjoy the weather with some outdoor Chess, connect with the local PLG community and the greater NY Chess community, and enjoy your favorite drinkable or smokable imbibement (optional but recommended, as it is the only way this writer gets any checkmates).

We do not have any membership fees, but we do graciously accept any donation, which are directed towards new/refreshed Chess sets, materials for Chess tournaments and the corresponding trophies/prizes, and throwing Club events like the Candidates Cookout that we did earlier this year - for more details about donations, please speak to Rommel.

Quick Shoutouts...

On Septermber 7th, the PPCC threw its inaugural Hand-and-Brain tournament (and our 2nd tournament ever!), and the event was a HUGE success.

Before I get into congratulating the champions, I first want to give my thanks to the folks in the PPCC Brain Trust that help organize the tournament from its inception, to Mitch and Dave for preparing the devilishly-clever trophies, and to HasenStuble for providing some cash incentive to the winners (cha-ching!).
