Cooley Wins at Nationals

T. S. Cooley's 5th grade team won 21st place team prize at the 2011 National Elementary Chess Championship in Dallas, Tx. There was 8 players from Cooley that made the trip. Everybody did great.

Andrew Wang         4.0 points     K-3 Championship

Andrew Yen           3.5 points     K-3 Under 800

Haden DeVilbiss      4.5 points    14th place out of 76 players (top 10 received trophies)

Jaden Rideau         1.0 point         all 5th graders played K-5 under 900

Our 5th grade team won 21st Place out of 42 teams and brought home a trophy! (top 30 teams received a trophy)

Cooley has been competing in national chess tournaments for 11 years and this is their first team trophy!
