County Championships 2023 : July Round Up

County Championship 2023 Open Division 3

We are two game points away from securing a win against Cheshire (so I had better not mess my games up!) and an overall won 6, lost 2 record for the season. 12 points will be sufficient for a top three finish and promotion to Division 2. The final positions of the top three are dependent on the outcome of other fixtures. Hertfordshire can also finish on 12 points, but we will be placed above them because of the head-to-head win in our favour.

County Championship Under 1600 Rating 2023 Division 2

One win, one defeat from the two matches completed. We are in a close tussle with Round 3 opponents Bedfordshire-Northamptonshire; 7.5 plays 7.5 with 3 games to finish. Round 4 against Somerset Wyvern is encouraging; a 9-2 lead, but still early days as the winning post in this match is 16.5 points.

County Championship Under 1300 Rating 2023 Division 5

First round win against Glamorgan and 3-3 draw with Shetland was a good start. A heavy loss to Bedfordshire-Northamptonshire in Round 4 pegged us back. Currently trailing Kent Checkmates by 5 points to 4 in the Round 3 fixture, so it’s important we get out of the Garden of England with hopefully at least a half.
