Cruel Traveller

Buckling in pain before collaspsing to the floor,this is the shocking moment a horse was viciously wipped by her traveller owner in an act of wanton cruelty.Footage of the incident was posted on utube in the comedy section of the site-sparking condemnation from viewers.But incredibly owner Billy Wilson walked free from court and has been allowed to continue keeping animals after magistrates decided the brutal thrashing was just a poor decision.The thirty eight year old traveller was filmed hitting the marenamed Marble,with rains and a whip as he sat in a trap,while a voice behind the brute understood to be his brother is heard to shout taunts.In the clip,which can still be viewed on utube,Marble refuses to pull the trap,then bucks violenty and finally falls to her knees from the continuous flogging.During the incident,the clearly distressed horse is contantly harassed by barking dogs,while wilsons co-accused,farnhand Mark Melvin Walker,thirty three runs back and fortrh in front of her.At a previous hearing Kevin Cambel of the R.S.P.C.A. said of the incident"What we are seeing here is an act f wanton cruelty".The pair pleaded guilty to causing unnecessary suffering to a protected animal at Darlington magistrates court.But chairman of the bench Jill Richardson said "it did not indicate prolonged neglect" and refussed to issue a ban on keeping animals.Wilson of Bishop Auckland County Durham,was also sentenced for four other welfare charges on Monday and ordered to do 250 hours of unpaid work,given a 12 month community order and fines totaling £1000.
