CSSCC Chess Olympiad
Hello everyone! Today CSSCC is going to host a Chess Olympiad.
First of all let's see what is a Chess Olympiad.
The Chess Olympiad is a biennial chess tournament in which teams representing nations of the world compete. FIDE organises the tournament and selects the host nation. ... The use of the name "Chess Olympiad" for FIDE's team championship is of historical origin and implies no connection with the Olympic Games.
This is google's definition of chess olympiad. Hope you got it.
We have to decide how many players are going to be in each team. 4 is Ideal. Matches will occur everyday ( 1 team vs 1 team).
In a 2 player team we are going to have 2 members and 2 substitutes.
There is also going to be a captain for each team.
Captains's duties:
1) He/She needs to help the players - ie Give them tips, etc.
2) He/She needs to look at the availability of the players and has to contact the other players.
3) He/She needs to up the team spirit
The team also needs to make it's own motto.
For Brilliant Challengers , the motto will be PlayBold
Since it is gonna be conducted in an six team format, here are the names of the teams:
1) Stunning Blasters
2) Magical Knights
3)Brilliant Challengers - ( I am in this team )
4) Fabulous Super Kings
5) Daring Daredevils
6) Legends United
How the points are calculated:
Win= 2 points
Tie= 1 point
Loss=0
There is also one point for the game of the day which will be decided with the level of play.
If you want to apply, follow the following steps:
1) Tell it in the comments
2) The comments should contain which team you want to be in.
3) It should also have the following pledge:
'I hereby participate in the CSSCC Olympiad,
I will play fairly and follow sportsmanship,
I will give my best for [Insert Team Name]Brilliant Challengers
I request my team to do the same'
