Cliff has used the common tactic of pinning dakotas knight to her queen. Dakota's best response would have been exd4. Pawn to d6 would have also been weaker but playable. Dakota opted for pawn to d5.
The next few moves go as expected. Cliff has gained a material and positional advantage but the contest is long from over. Unfortunately, Dakota's next response proves to be her undoing.
