DHLC - Learn The Openings
An Online tournament series designed to give players a place to learn and play openings one at a time.
Just as Blitz can be a great tool to see how well you remember your openings very quickly, Online chess can be a great way to study and practice an opening slowly.
New tournaments start about once each month, each featuring thematic play in just a single opening or opening variation. Even if you don't have plans to incorporate a certain month's opening into your repertoire, consider each tournament your chance to get a classical chess education! Play will be in groups of 4 with 1 game per opponent at a time at a rate of 3 days per move. Vacation is allowed, but should not be abused. Joining is by invitation only, exclusively for members of the Dan Heisman Learning Center.
A special DHLC sub-group has been created to point players towards reference material to help in learning each opening, and to provide a place for players to discuss what they are learning. Members of this group will automatically receive invites to all the Learn The Opening tournaments.
