The FIDE online olympiad took place this year. It was from 15 August to september 15th

The Indian team was pretty strong with Vishy , Vidit , Praggnanadha , Nihal , Adhiban and Pentala Harikrishna in the mens as well as the women - Koneru Humpy , Harika Dronavalli , Tania Sachdev , R. Vaishali ,Bhakti Kulkarni . Russia placed first followed by USA second and India third ! All the Indian  players were in chennai where they played online well against tough opponents till the semifinals .
