e4 Openings (1)

I was thinking about what to write about, when I suddenly realized there is an obvious one. Openings! I thought it would be a great subject, because many beginners don't play solid openings causing them to get a bad position early. For beginners I suggest the play e4 or d4 the first move. Many solid openings stem from them. I'll be covering the e4 openings today. I'll tell/show ya'll what the objective is for each, and how to play it. Let's dive into it!

This is the Scotch Game. This would be the most common position for beginners. This eliminates the d pawn for white & the e pawn for black. This position gives white a slight edge with a +0.8 advantage. If they somehow attack your queen you will 90% of the time go to e3 and most likely be winning. After black goes d6 DO NOT MOVE YOUR QUEEN     you will be losing if you move your queen after d6. You will develop your pieces like Bf4, Nc3, Nf6, etc. Try to find some tactics with your queen and bishop maybe. Your queen is out there so use it! This opening is rated 700+

This is my favorite opening to play, the Giucco Piano Game. It gets the knights and bishops developed on comfortable places. There are many variations that you can explore with this opening. I usually like to play Nc3 then d3 and end with Bg5. You can really do any move that develops a piece in this equal position. This opening is 400+

This opening is called the Italian game. It can lead to more sharp positions than the openings above. Some moves after the book showed above are Ng5 which would be played with higher rated people. d3, an attempt to develop the bishop. d4, another higher level move. The Italian game is probably rated 800+

I'll be doing another one of these. I hope you are inspired to play one of these openings!
